2006 Porsche Cayenne S
90,000 Miles | Long-term Virginia Ownership | Jarama Beige Paint

Currently being prepared for listing by Wolf and Mare is a well-preserved 90,000-mile 2006 Porsche Cayenne S painted in Jarama Beige with Havanna and Sand Beige two-tone interior. The Cayenne S was the middle-of-the-range model for the 955 generation Porsche SUV, featuring a 4.5-liter V8 gasoline engine putting out 355 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration is brisk for a 5,000 vehicle that can tow 7,500 pounds, with a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. For many, the ‘S’ is the sweet spot, with better performance than the base V6 and less complexity than the twin-turbo V8.
The interior is appropriately luxurious, in contrast to the still plush — but more utilitarian — interior of Volkswagen’s SUV built on the same platform, the Touareg. This particular car was ordered with dark burl maple wood trim and draped leather seats, the latter of which certainly adds more visual appeal. A sagging headliner was replaced with a nearly identical copy to the original color and weave, and an aftermarket stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto was swapped for the stock head unit. It integrates so seamlessly into the dashboard, you’d be hard pressed to notice it isn’t a factory Porsche unit.
The car is mechanically sound, with recent repairs including upgraded aluminum coolant tubes, new headlight wiring harnesses, and repairs to the emissions system to correct vacuum leaks. The car has an up-to-date Virginia inspection sticker, a clean title in the seller’s name, and a current Virginia registration.
While examples of Porsche’s first sport utility vehicle can be found for relatively low prices, there is no such thing as a “cheap Porsche,” and many suffer from mechanical or cosmetic issues not present in the car on offer. Whilt it has a few very small flaws here and there, this Porsche Cayenne S cleans up beautifully and would make an excellent daily driver or candidate for an overland conversion.
