The Most Popular “Good Finds” of 2025
Sean Rooks | January 9, 2026

To close out 2025, I thought it would be fun to take this week’s Good Find Friday to recap the most popular cool vehicle finds of 2025 as determined by you: our readers and followers. For two years, I’ve been scouring the internet for interesting cars to feature for this series. In that time, 102 vehicles for sale have been found, profiled and assessed for your enjoyment. I’m considering retiring or changing this series for 2026, so let me know in the comments if you enjoy this content!
The Most Popular “Good Finds” of 2025
The cars below represent the most popular Good Find Friday articles posted to wolfandmare.com during the 2025 calendar year. While many articles from 2024 are wildly popular and generate a lot of views — in some cases much more traffic than finds from 2025 — only cars profiled this year were included. Popularity was determined based on total sessions for each page and for all cars below the primary traffic driver was overwhelmingly organic search (i.e., people finding the page on Google or other search engine). No ad or referral-generated views here! With that, here are the top 5 in ascending order with #1 being the most popular find of the year.

The fifth most popular find of 2025 is this low-miles 1984 Mk2 Volkswagen Scirocco 8v. The car was offered for sale on Bring a Trailer back in May of 2024, but failed to sell with a high bid of $9,000. It was found on the VW-centric site TheSamba.com with an asking price of $12,000 and is no longer listed. Values have remained pretty stable for the Mk2 Scirocco, with the 16-valve variant being the most desirable.

The liquidation of this well-known Los Angeles-based parts yard was the subject of considerable buzz, which is likely why this Good Find was popular on the site. Many of the cars for sale were disassembled and/or damaged hulks of more modern cars like 986 Boxsters and 996s, but if you were searching for a 993 steering wheel or a rear quarter for a 964, you could definitely score a deal.

The market for vintage ambulances and hearses is pretty niche, but it’s a very focused and passionate enthusiast community. The amount of content on the web for these types of vehicles is pretty limited, which may have led to this find’s popularity. This 1980 Cadillac Combination Hearse/Ambulance had just 42,000 original miles and presented very well, but did have some hidden corrosion to deal with. The car was listed with an asking price of $10,500 but ultimately sold for $7,000.

This fiberglass shell of a Porsche 908 was supposedly molded off an original body, is still for sale as far as I can tell, and I still want it. There was (and is) no asking price for the body, with the seller accepting offers in an unknown range. Also available, at additional cost of course, are a modern welded chassis (not an accurate factory-style chassis) and a 3.6-liter flat-six engine. If I were still making creative director money, I’d buy this just to hang from my garage ceiling until I could tackle the build as a retirement project in 20 years.

The most popular, at least in terms of overall traffic to the page, was this 1975 Porsche 911 Targa that had been converted to replicate a Porsche 959 using a fiberglass body kit. My write-up on this car likely gets caught up in searches for real 959 Porsches, but it may also be popular among fans of 1980s kit cars. The car was listed at $29,000 which was a relative deal for a mid-year aircooled 911. A similar, though much more accurate 959 replica coupe sold for nearly $100,000 last year, so this was probably a bargain buy for an intrepid enthusiast.
The Top “Instagram Popular” Good Finds of 2025
The list above reflects the Good Find cars that received the most web traffic last year. Each one was also promoted on Instagram, though none of these cars had the same level of popularity on that platform as it did through organic search. Here are your top 5 “Good Finds” on Instagram:

1988 930 Turbo Slant Nose Targa
One of just 14 built, this 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Slant Nose Targa was converted to a cabriolet in the past and lovingly restored to Targa configuration by SonderWerks in North Carolina. While still very expensive, this was a bargain-priced example of a car offered at “50% off”, an interesting marketing tactic. These cars routinely bring around $400,000 at auction.

1952 Hudson Wasp
Unsurprisingly, this 1952 Hudson Wasp, previously owned by Steve McQueen and featured in numerous photographs of the actor, was a popular Good Find in 2025. I predicted the car would sell for much more than its previous sale in 2006, and I was right. This Wasp hammered for $110,000 against an average about half that — still a bargain for a McQueen machine, in my opinion.

1968 Triumph TR250
This 1968 Triumph TR250 is a six-cylinder variant of the Michelotti-designed TR4. It was listed at a reasonable $25,900 and remained for sale for much of 2025. The car is now sold, however.

1962 Chevrolet Corvair Monza
I’m pleased to see that Instagram also loved this rare little wagon. The car was listed at $10,000 but sold for $7,950 to a buyer with great taste in classic cars.

1992 Porsche 968 Turbo S
And the most popular Good Find posted to Instagram in 2025 was this eye-catching transaxle Porsche. Described as a rare factory prototype and one of just 13 built, this Speed Yellow Porsche 1992 968 Turbo S is still for sale by the selling dealer, though the price has decreased by $20,000 as of this writing.
Final Thoughts
It’s not surprising that the most popular finds on Instagram are different from those on wolfandmare.com. Many of my followers on Instagram are Porsche people, so it’s natural that they prefer cars whose engines are in the back and cooled by air.
The top 5 finds are kind of head scratchers, to be honest, and may require further digging to understand why they resonated so much with the broader car community. More and more sessions are coming to my site from ChatGPT and AI assistants, so it will be interesting to see if traffic from those platforms continues to grow in 2026.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
